The State Employees’ Association is unanimous in its decision to endorse Former Manchester State Representative Chris Pappas in the race for Executive Council representing New Hampshire’s District 4. The endorsement follows a unanimous recommendation from the Political Education Committee following a meeting with the candidate last month. Pappas, who served in the New Hampshire House two terms and who also served two terms as Hillsborough County treasurer, is a small business owner in Manchester.
“We are proud to endorse Chris Pappas for Executive Council because of his commitment to healthy communities and his desire to maintain and modernize our public infrastructure,” said SEA President Diana Lacey. Chris has also indicated his plan to focus on ‘people oriented public servants’ when making political appointments, one of the major functions of the Council. “These are exactly the type of appointments we can get behind; ones that represent the needs of the residents of NH”, continued President Lacey.
Pappas is a graduate of Harvard and is co-owner of the Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester which has been owned by the Pappas family for 95 years. The Manchester landmark employs 230 people.
