It’s Chapter Election Time – Send in Your Nominations

It’s nearly time again for chapter elections, and you must fill out a self-nomination form if you’re interested in running for president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, councilor or alternate councilor. You can find information about your chapter’s current leadership, as well as a chapter leadership guide, at www.seiu1984.org/your-chapter/.

Now for the fine print: In order to be eligible to vote or to be eligible to hold office in chapter election, a person must be on the membership list no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 1, 2013. Self Nomination forms must be received at the SEA/SEIU Local 1984 office at 207 N. Main St., Concord, NH by 5 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2013. Write-ins are not allowed in this election.

Ballots will be mailed to the last known home mailing address as of Feb. 1, 2013 no later than March 4, 2013. Ballots must be received at the SEA Office, 207 N. Main St., Concord, NH 03301 by 5 p.m. on March 29, 2013 or postmarked no later than March 29, 2013.

If your chapter voted to have a 2-year election cycle but has not changed its by-laws through the required procedure, your chapter must hold elections annually until those changes are made. Failure to hold chapter elections could result in not being seated at the Annual Convention.

Questions about election procedures should be directed to the Organization Committee’s Sub Committee on Elections Chairperson, Debbie Wheeler, 271-3411.
