SEA President Diana Lacey and Gov. Maggie Hassan sign the Executive Branch CBA as members of the SEA’s and state’s bargaining teams look on.

In a brief ceremony just after noon Thursday, Gov. Maggie Hassan and SEA President Diana Lacey signed the new Executive Branch collective bargaining agreement that members ratified via mail-in ballot. The Governor and President Lacey were joined by members of the bargaining teams for the SEA and the State.

Before signing the contract, Hassan took a moment to recognize “the really important work that state employees do and the sacrifices they’ve made over the last five years.”

Moments later, the contracts were signed and the new two-year collective bargaining agreement became official.

“Congrats,” Hassan said. “Good work, everybody.”

Afterwards, Lacey applauded the efforts of the SEA’s bargaining team.

“These people put in a lot of time over the last 10 months to get us to this contract,” Lacey said. “They did a great job, just like they do every day serving the people of this state.”

The SEA announced late Monday that Executive Branch members had ratified the tentative agreement the Master Bargaining Team had reached with the state. With the signing, the contract now becomes effective. You can read more about what comes next for Executive Branch workers here.
