ACA Sign-Up Period Ending Soon

More than 3 Million Have Gotten Covered So Far

If you or someone you know still wants to get health coverage through the Affordable Care Act, there’s still time to do so this year. The open enrollment period to obtain coverage in 2014 ends March 31. This open enrollment is for 2014 coverage only; there will be an open enrollment period for 2015 during November and December. As you may know, we’ve been helping Granite Staters find quality, affordable insurance through the ACA since October, and we’ll continue to do so.

As of Feb. 1, 3.3 million had signed up nationally for private health coverage through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace at HealthCare.gov; that number is expected to continue to climb as we approach the deadline next month. If you, or someone you know, still needs coverage, you can get one-on-one help from Chris Porter, the SEA’s benefit research specialist. He can be reached at 271-3411, ext. 134, or at cporter@seiu1984.org.

Alternatively, there are a pair of ACA enrollment fairs coming up at the Boscawen Public Library, 116 North Main St., Boscawen. The first is Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 4-6 p.m. and the second is Monday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m. These events are hosted by the Bi-State Primary Care Association, and you’re asked to RSVP by calling 753-8576.
