Members covered by the State Employee Health Benefit are eligible for Anthem’s Community Health Education Reimbursement Program. This includes classes at health care facilities, Weight Watchers, the Red Cross and even yoga.
It works like this: When you take certain health education classes at approved facilities, you pay up front, then submit a form to Anthem requesting reimbursement.
The types of classes that are covered include smoking cessation, nutrition education, weight management, stress management, physical activity, childbirth education, parenting education and CPR/first aid. You can see the list of approved facilities here. Since class offerings are subject to change, you’ll want to make sure you contact a facility ahead of time.
Before you go to the class, you’ll want to make sure you print out this form, which has more instructions on what you’ll need to do when you get to the class.
