We got word this week that SEA/SEIU Local 1984 member Anthony “Tony” Teixeira and his wife Bev were in a serious car accident on Aug. 29. Tony’s colleague Heather Barto has set up a GoFundMe page to help the couple. Heather said Tony has broken bones and Bev has had two surgeries. Heather wrote this about the couple:

“They both have a very long road ahead of them for recovery. Everyone in the community knows them because they have volunteered for sports or other school and community activities, both very dedicated to helping people in need. I can’t say enough great things about them.”

“Tony has worked for Admin Services for over 20 years and is often seen by many people as the most hard-working and dedicated State employee around. Whether it’s landscaping jobs, mowing the lawn, plowing the roads in the winter, getting up at 3 a.m. to ensure roads are safer for our staff or training another staff member, he’s there and will get the job done. He also is the lead traffic director during Concord’s annual fireworks. He directs all traffic on the state grounds and keeps everyone safe, all with a smile and a ‘have a good night sir’ … so respectful.”

Please consider making a donation to help a member of our union family in his family’s time of need. You can find the fundraiser page here.
