We’d like you to join us in welcoming the newest member of the SEA/SEIU Local 1984 staff, Laurie Gordon.
Gordon joins the staff as a secretary II after several years working for the Department of Education, where she worked with the blind and visually impaired. She was an SEA/SEIU Local 1984 member at the Department of Education, which was her first experience being part of a union.
“I strongly believe in the importance of the work the union does, representing and protecting the hard-working people of NH,” she said.
A New Hampshire native, Gordon lives in Washington with her husband and said she doesn’t plan on living anywhere else. She lived outside of the state once and “that experience made me realize just how special New England truly is, particularly New Hampshire,” Gordon said. In her home life, she said she enjoys gardening, cooking, crafting and has an affinity for nature and animals.
She said she’s excited to join the staff, and brings more than 30 years of experience with customer service. That experience helped her develop strong people skills, which should serve her well in her new job.
“I’m extremely happy and proud to be part of the team here at SEA/SEIU Local 1984,” Gordon said. “It is my desire to integrate my sense of positive energy and uplifting spirit with the staff and members, to complement an already extremely productive and caring group of individuals.”
