Here’s some news that should make you smile: Newly negotiated dental benefits for those covered by the state employee health benefit will go into effect in January.
First, the maximum per-person amount the plan will pay each year increases to $2,000. This is an increase of $500 from the current per-person maximum.
The other dental coverage change worth noting relates to fillings/restorations. The plan currently covers resin (white) restorations only for the front teeth; for back teeth, the plan only covers amalgam (silver) restorations. Starting next year, the plan will allow for those nice, white restorations in any tooth.
