Voluntary Card is Great for the Backcountry Adventurer on Your List
If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for that outdoorsy person on your list, look no further than a 2016 Hike Safe Card from the N.H. Fish and Game Department. The voluntary cards cost $25 for an individual or $35 for a family, and are good for 2016.
The cards help ensure that Fish and Game officers trained in wilderness rescues will be there when you need them, in case of an accident. In 2015, the cards raised more than $75,000 for the Fish and Game Search and Rescue Fund. The bonus is that the card exempts the holder from liability for repaying search and rescue costs in New Hampshire (excluding reckless or intentional actions).
For even the most prepared outdoorsman or outdoorswoman, the Hike Safe Card is an extra level of reassurance should the unexpected happen. You can purchase a card online at www.wildnh.com/safe.
