Deadline for SEIU Scholarships is March 3

Members and Children Eligible; SEA Scholarships Deadline is April 15

One final reminder that the deadline to apply for scholarships from SEIU is today, March 3. SEA/SEIU Local 1984 members and dependent children are eligible for scholarships through SEIU, as well as several through the local. In either case, you’ll need to act quickly.

Scholarships from SEIU: The international is offering members and dependent children three competitive scholarships and two different lottery scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year. As we noted above, the deadline to apply is today, so there’s no time to waste. Requirements vary for each scholarship, but all require one continuous year of membership as of Sept. 1, 2016. You can apply online at www.seiu.org/scholarships.

Scholarships from SEA/SEIU Local 1984: Our local offers two scholarships: the Joan Dolloff Scholarship and the SEA/SEIU Local 1984 Scholarship. The deadline for each of those scholarships is April 15. Each scholarship is administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, meaning you just need to fill out one application atwww.nhcf.org. The great thing about the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation is that one application works for lots of scholarships. In other words, by filling out the scholarship, you’re entered for all scholarships that you’re eligible for. Different scholarships likely have different deadlines, so it makes sense to apply for these as soon as possible.

Notification on scholarships should come during the summertime. Until then, good luck on your applications and in your studies.
