75th Anniversary Celebration Is Just Days Away

We Hope to See You Sunday at Pawtuckaway State Park

Our 75th Anniversary Celebration is this Sunday, Sept. 25, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there. As we make the final preparations for the event, there a few things you’ll need to know for the day of the event.

If you haven’t heard about it, we’ll be gathering rain or shine at the pavilion at Pawtuckaway State Park in Nottingham at 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are either $5 per person or $10 per family, which includes admission to the park plus an awesome barbecue lunch catered by Alan’s of Boscawen. It’ll be a family friendly, casual affair with some fun games and activities to keep kids and adults busy.

Here are some more details about the event:

Getting there: Pawtuckaway State Park is at 128 Mountain Road in Nottingham. From Route 101, you can take Exit 5, then turn right at the end of the ramp on to Freetown Road. Turn left on Route 27, then take your first right on Nottingham Road. Follow Nottingham Road for roughly 1.4 miles, then turn left on Mountain Road. Follow Mountain Road for 2 miles, and you’ll see the entrance for Pawtuckaway State Park on the left. You’ll also see signs for the state park along the way once you get off Route 101.

When you arrive on Sunday, you can tell park employees that you’re headed to the SEA/SEIU Local 1984 event at the pavilion. You will not have to pay to enter the park, however if you haven’t paid for your tickets, you can do that at our registration table at the pavilion.

When you enter the park, you’ll want to follow signs for the pavilion. The pavilion is adjacent to a ball field and a large, dirt parking lot.

What to do: This event will be a great opportunity to socialize with fellow members, family, and our supporters in the state Legislature. We’ll have yard games and plenty to do, but you can also take advantage of all that Pawtuckaway State Park has to offer, including hiking trails and boating. You can bring your own canoe or kayak or you can rent one at the park store. You can read more about Pawtuckaway here.
