It’s National Retirement Security Week

Campaign Promoted by New Hampshire Deferred Compensation Plan

Deferred

This week is National Retirement Security Week, although the New Hampshire Deferred Compensation Plan is celebrating all of October. The week — or in our case, the month — is a national effort to raise public awareness about the importance of saving for retirement.

The State of NH Deferred Compensation Plan and Empower Retirement are partnering to promote the month-long campaign.

“Full-time state employees contribute to a pension and many have access to Social Security, however those two sources may not provide enough retirement income, suggesting many workers may face a retirement with a lower standard of living,” said Craig Downing, Chapter 20 member and Executive Director of the NH Deferred Compensation Plan. “We are pleased to be able to offer the NH Deferred Compensation Plan to public employees, both full time and part time to save additional money for a better retirement.”

“While employees may join the plan at any time, we promote National Retirement Security Week as a specific time for public employees to ‘Think Ahead’ about their financial future and retirement,” Downing said.
