If you need health insurance coverage for 2018, the open enrollment period for 2018 ACA Marketplace insurance plans runs from November 1 through December 15, 2017.
This is a shorter enrollment period than in previous years, so it’s important to act quickly. If you don’t pick a plan by December 15, you may be unable to receive coverage for 2018, unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period during the coming year.
It’s more important than ever to shop around due to premium increases and fewer available plans for 2018. As a result, many previous enrollees may find they need to select a new plan, which makes doing research into the best plan available vastly important.
Despite these rising premiums, many consumers will be eligible for even more generous Marketplace subsidies than before, helping to make coverage affordable.
