SEA 5K returns in April with a new fundraising component
The 2019 SEA 5K Road Race and Fitness Walk is back on Saturday, April 6, and as always, the event is a fundraiser for our Operation Santa Claus program. The big change for 2019 is that participants can solicit donations for OSC in support of their participation.
Whether you plan to run or walk, you’ll get your own fundraising page. You can then use the included fundraising tools to ask your friends, colleagues and family to support your participation. Our overall fundraising goal is $5,000, and all proceeds go to the SEA’s Operation Santa Claus, which helps provide gifts for 3,000 children around the state every Christmas. You can also help us reach our fundraising goal by making a direct donation at www.pledgereg.com/sea-5k.
The SEA 5K, now in its 26th year, is presented by SEA/SEIU Local 1984 and is a fundraiser for Operation Santa Claus. The course runs through the State Office Park East on Hazen Drive in Concord. The SEA 5K is the second race in the Capital Area Race Series.
There’s always an element of friendly competition among SEA members in this race, and this year we’ve issued a challenge to chapter presidents to step up, form a team and see who can raise the most money. Operation Santa Claus is run entirely by SEA member volunteers, and it requires a lot of fundraising to keep it going. Our hope is, with your help, we can make this event into our biggest fundraiser for OSC.
