Operation Santa Claus Committee

The Operation Santa Claus (OSC) program has successfully completed another year of delivering gifts to NH’s neediest children. In its 49th year and during an economic recession, SEA members, sponsors, and Donors all joined together to meet almost 3000 requests for gifts from NH children during the holidays

Chapter 44 Cookbook

2010 OSC CookbookHot off the Press!  SEA Chapter 44 (Department of Education) teamed up with Berlin High School Graphics Arts students to publish a cookbook to support Operation Santa Claus. The cookbook includes a wide variety of recipes: Sour Cream Blueberry Muffins... Jambalaya... Harira... Irish Soda Bread... Mile High Mocha Alaska... everyone will be able to find at least one new "favorite recipe" in this book!

The cookbook will be sold throughout the coming year as a fundraiser for Operation Santa Claus, which celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2010. The cookbook is available for $8/each; $15/two copies; or $20/three copies.  Checks should be made payable to SEA Chapter 44. Cookbooks can be purchased at the SEA Office, but please call 271-3411 x100 or email to make sure there are copies available. (The first print run is almost sold out -- but Chapter 44 is ordering more!)

Sammy's OSC Blog

Sammy Gallerani is a senior at Bow High School. She has chosen Operation Santa Claus as her Senior Project.

Senior Project Complete....16 children sponsored !!

The past few weeks I've been having a blast purchasing gifts for the children we are sponsoring. I have to say that $60 does not go as far as I thought. I’m grateful for all of the people who have been purchasing candy for this project since that has allowed me to stretch my purchases even more. In total we raised $832 of which $262 was from candy sales.

The wrapping and packaging is all done (not so much fun) and I dropped off all the remaining items on Thursday at the OSC headquarters. They were all so helpful and organized so it made the drop off very easy.

I was amazed to see how many packages were there for all the different locations throughout the state. It was also cool so see just how many people also drop off homemade items like hats and mittens. I’m sure any young kid who doesn’t have a great family life and may not even have grandparents would love to receive these items.

I am very proud to be part of this program and to see what wonderful and caring sponsors exist in NH. Though I have had a roller coaster of emotions throughout this process I will ALWAYS participate in this program one way or another.

Thanks to all my sponsors and for the volunteers at OSC for making this a successful senior project, where we sponsored 16 children in total.
