The SEA's Political Education Committee needs individuals to assist in the coming months throughout the quickly approaching, potentially contentious campaign season. Whether you can help one afternoon or one evening, or a just a couple of hours here and there, we certainly can find a place for you.
We'll be making phone calls, conducting mailings, reviewing candidate questionaires, conducting candidate interviews, sponsoring local and regional forums, surveying members, etc. There are numerous tasks, big and small. No amount of volunteer time is too little! All help is greatly appreciated in all corners of the state.
During this process we are striving to remain non-partisan. We have a two-pronged goal of educating public employees about ALL the candidates, while at the same time, educating the candidates about issues important to working families such as affordable health care and the rights to collective bargaining and to earn a living wage. It should also be stressed that no SEA dues or agency fees are used to support specific political parties nor specific political candidates' campaigns.
If you're interested in learning more about these opportunities and finding out if we've got something that can fit into your schedule, contact Ken Roos by email or at 271-0543.
