SEA Members beat the summer heat with ice cream and conversation with Katrina Swett

Katrina Swett brought ice cream -- "Katrina Crunch" -- and SEA members came with their questions and to show their support at an ice cream social with the 2nd Congressional District candidate this past Tuesday.

After a brief honk-and-wave outside the SEA headquarters on North Main Street, Katrina and her fellow SEA sign-wavers came inside to greet other members who had arrived to meet the candidate.

At the ice cream social, Swett talked about her steadfast commitment to defending working class people. If elected, she promised to support legislation that benefits the middle class, and not the Wall Street CEOs who already hold too much power. Swett also thanked the SEA for our endorsement and answered questions from those who had not yet met her.

"I was very impressed with her," said Fred Carlson of Chapter 1, "I really appreciated her talking about keeping jobs here in America and how she would fight against legislation that shipped jobs overseas."

After the event, members in attendance also signed up to volunteer to talk to others members, make phone calls, get out the vote, and put up a lawn sign in their yard.
