Operation Santa Claus Committee

Thanks All

On Tuesday, as volunteers came together to load the National Guard trucks, SEA President, Gary Smith recognized Barbara Lillios for her long term commitment to OSC and NH children.  Barbara has worked with OSC almost since it began in 1960.  She received a bouquet of flowers and a card by the OSC Chairperson, Laurie Aucoin.  Barbara made the decision last year to step back and allow others this great opportunity.  However, we did get her to agree she will visit often and help when she can.

Also recognized for their dedication to OSC and NH children, was Charlene Clark, “Chief Elf” who has dedicated more than 10 years to our program.  She oversees everything from beginning to end. Gary thanked Carol Beaudoin, who joined our team three years ago and Linda Farrell, who started working with us this year.  All received a bouquet of flowers and the gratitude of the OSC Committee and the SEA.

Last but not least, SEA President, Gary Smith recognized National Guardsman, CW4 Gill Colon Jr for coordinating the OSC deliveries over the last 25 years.  “There is no way we could get all of these gifts delivered in time without the support of our National Guard Soldiers and Airmen.  Thank you to the 64th Air Re-fueling Squadron for their assistance in loading the trucks.”

The Operation Santa Claus Committee would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to our many State Employee Sponsors.  We know that almost half of the children sponsored each year are taken by your Chapter, your agency, or your division. Members and Non-Members alike come together for the children.  It is nice to see we can put aside differences in order to bring cheer and gifts to NH children.

The OSC Committee wishes Sammy Gallerani, a Bow High School Senior who chose to do her Senior Project on the Operation Santa Claus program, a Merry Christmas and a big Thank You.  You brought something special to our program and we invite you back anytime you would like to help. We certainly hope other high school seniors might consider OSC for their community service or for their senior project.

The Operation Santa Claus Committee sends a big thank you to Representative Frank Emiro.  He graciously agreed to play Santa Claus at the last minute and might we add, he did a fantastic job.

We would be remiss if we didn’t send a big thank you to all of the individuals, organizations and businesses that either sponsored or donated money to OSC this year and throughout all of the years.  Your contributions are essential in meeting our goals every year.  We sincerely appreciate your generosity and invite you to participate again in 2010.

The Operation Santa Claus Committee wishes all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
