Amounts: Vary depending on program, degree, and need
Notification occurs In June.
Applicants must have a letter from SEA NH confirming membership and date joined. There are many different scholarships available through this program. We recommend you look at the eligibility requirements and deadline dates. If you have any questions, you can contact NHCF at (225-6641).

 



2012 SEIU Scholarship Program  SEIU Scholarships

Available: Beginning November 15, 2012

  Service Employees’ International Union - Lottery Scholarships

These two scholarships are done by a drawing of qualified applicants. All applicants must read the “SEIU 2010 Annual Report.” They must then correctly answer all questions on the SEIU Scholarship Application Form to qualify for the lottery drawing selection process. The annual report is available in PDF format by contacting Terri Wright at twright@seiu1984.org or 271-3411 x108. You can also access the SEIU Annual report when you click on the section for each scholarship.

Selection Process for both of the Lottery Scholarships is done by a drawing of all qualifying applicants. Please go to: www.aim.applyists.net/seiu The program key for this scholarship is (SEIU)

Amount: $1,000 renewable for up to four years (15 available throughout the country)
Eligibility: High School Graduate or GED Certificate by August 2012.  Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time college student by the fall semester of 2012 at an accredited, two- year or four-year college, trade or technical school.
 Amount: $1,500 one-time non-renewable awards (33 available throughout the country)
Eligibility: Returning full-time student to an accredited college or university as a sophomore, junior, or senior in fall of 2012; or attending an accredited community college, trade, or technical school as of the fall semester of 2012. Lottery Scholarships are not awarded to the same person in two consecutive years.

 Service Employees’ International Union – Competitive Scholarships

All applications must include academic records, an essay, and a personal statement. Moe Foner applicants must also include art work.

 Moe Foner Scholarship –Applicants may apply at: www.aim.applyists.net/mf Program Key (MF)
Amount: $5,000 one-time award
Eligibility: Pursuing a degree or training full-time in the visual or performing arts. Funding must be applied to tuition at a two or four year college university, or accredited community, technical, or trade school in an arts- related field.

 Jesse Jackson Scholarship – Applicants may apply at www.aim.applyists.net/jj Program Key (JJ)
Amount: $5,000 renewable for up to 4 years
Eligibility: Pursuing a degree in social or economic justice. Agreement to participate in some paid or course credit internship or work experience in social change during the four years you receive the scholarship. Must apply money toward tuition at a two or four year accredited college, university, or community college.

 Bonnie Ladin Scholarship at the National Labor College

Amount: One time $2,500 scholarship for use at the National Labor College in Silver Springs, MD.
Eligibility: Members, their children and local staff who have been accepted into the National Labor College Bachelor of Arts program and are fully matriculated (which means they have earned or transferred 56 credits) are eligible.

Amount: $4,000.00 Scholarship renewable for up to two years.
Eligibility: This scholarship is made possible by the family of Nora Piore.
