2016-2017 Scholarship Opportunities
Members and their children may apply for scholarships through SEA/SEIU 1984
The State Employees’ Association recognizes the value of education and skills development for working families. Accordingly, the Association offers two distinct scholarship opportunities, each of which is administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (NHCF). The Charitable Foundation is the state’s largest private scholarship source for New Hampshire students. Each year they disburse $5 million to hundreds of students pursuing academic and career goals. By completing the foundation’s application form, the applicant is automatically matched with any NHCF managed scholarship for which he or she meets eligibility requirements.
The two funds the State Employees’ Association of NH offers through the NHCF are the Joan Dolloff Scholarship Fund and the State Employees of NH, Inc Scholarship fund. The criteria for each is the same: you’ll be asked to submit a letter confirming union membership and the date you joined.
There are many different scholarships available through this program. We recommend you look at the eligibility requirements and deadline dates. If you have any questions, you can contact NHCF at 225-6641.
This is a competitive scholarship. Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended.
Scholarship applicants are judged by a committee of impartial post-secondary educators.
