What We Do

SEA/SEIU Local 1984 is a member-driven organization united by a common goal: strong unions contribute to a stronger community.

We negotiate fair contracts for our members and advocate for working people and their families across New Hampshire.

Headquartered in Concord, NH, SEA/SEIU Local 1984 is made up of the state workforce in New Hampshire and a significant number of county, municipal, and private sector employees. SEIU is made up of more than 300 local unions and about 2 million diverse members in healthcare, the public sector and property services. For decades before we became a part of SEIU, we were simply called the State Employees’ Association of New Hampshire (the “S.E.A.”), an identity we maintain today.

TO REMAIN A STRONG UNION, WE NEED ENGAGED MEMBERS

Efforts that Result in Positive Community Impact

Union members have achieved much by acting collectively to set agendas and then elect politicians who believe in the same things. That is the reason why unions today are politically motivated and continue to be involved in shaping the future of politics within their states and across the country.

Help Us Help Others

Every year since 1960, SEA/SEIU Local 1984’s volunteer-led Operation Santa Claus program ensures gifts are provided to New Hampshire children in need, regardless of circumstances.
