Melissa Bernardin is an almost lifelong resident of New Hampshire and lives in Concord. After earning a degree in Environmental Science and International Affairs from the University of New Hampshire, she was employed in natural resource conservation in Los Angeles and Boston. She subsequently returned to NH and has served in advocacy, lobbying, and election-related roles ever since. She was grassroots organizer for NH Citizens Alliance, grassroots director at PrioritiesNH, and political and field director at America Votes NH. Prior to coming to SEA, she directed a statewide initiative to help human service nonprofits strengthen their advocacy, and most recently served as co-director of LEADNH, an organization created to identify, train, and support new progressive leaders and candidates statewide. When not engaged in the NH political world, she enjoys spending time with her partner and her adopted foxhound, as well as hiking, biking and paddling around NH.
